Why Mentoring?

Being adopted brings an entire unique layer to life than non-adoptees experience. Having a mentor who is also adopted and understands your journey can make all the difference in your healing.

Together we will explore who you are, where you've come from, and where you want to go. I am your partner and your cheerleader. I will gently and lovingly point out your blind spots and guide you home to yourself.

I provide a safe & confidential space where you can be vulnerable with someone who understands first hand what you're going through and with the education and skills to help you through it.

Examples of things we might work on:

  • knowing and understand yourself better so you can live more authentically
  • value yourself and your experience with compassion
  • have more ease in your relationships
  • heal feelings of shame, anxiety and grief that have been bleeding into your every-day life
  • overcome social anxiety
  • accepting your worthiness to receive all that you desire (love, money, etc.)
  • being fully present in your body
  • showing up fully, unapologetically, & confidently as yourself
  • get clarity on who you are and what you want
  • help with reunification

You are not broken, and you are not alone.

I would be honored to support you on your journey.

Hi! I'm shana!

Drawn arrow pointer

I'm obsessed with carbs, my sphynx cat, my kids, & anything mid-century modern.

I was adopted domestically in a same-race closed adoption as in infant in 1978.

I struggled my entire life with low self-esteem, paralyzing fears of abandonment, extreme shyness, and a thread of sadness & grief that I couldn't explain. I struggled with social anxiety all through my school years, I stayed in relationships for all the wrong reasons, and I really didn't like myself all that much. All of which I wasn't aware had anything to do with my being adopted.

It wasn't until my late 30s that I put all the pieces together and began my own healing journey.

And I want healing for you, too.

I've also always loved coloring outside the lines. Sometimes this gets me in trouble, sometimes it doesn't, but either way, my adventures (& misadventures) have deepened my understanding of human nature and expanded my perception of the universe and what is truly possible.

As a Trauma Informed Coach, Dual Credentialed Teacher, Board Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, & all around Transformation Expert, it's my mission to help you navigate your life as an adoptee, or as adoptive parents, with less isolation, stress, loneliness, & confusion.

I can’t wait to guide you through an experience back to yourself.

*I am not a medical professional and cannot diagnose or treat mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, or PTSD. If you are experiencing any of these, please seek out a Therapist or Psychologist. I'm happy to offer referrals for such if you need them.
